About CIPUG

Mission

The mission of the Critical Infrastructure Protection User Group is to provide an open forum for the exchange of information regarding the WECC Compliance Program's enforcement of mandatory Critical Infrastructure Protection Standards (CIP-001 through CIP-009) in the Western Interconnection.

Scope

The CIPUG is a forum for the WECC Compliance Department to provide information regarding compliance activities with respect to the Critical Infrastructure Protection Standards (CIPS) such as:

• Compliance Monitoring Processes

                    -Audit Schedules and Calendar

                    -Audit Processes

                    -Reporting Processes

                    -Report Forms

• Standards Development
• Entity Registration
• Reliability Standard Audit Worksheets (RSAW)

                    -Additions and Changes

CIPUG Functions: 

• The CIPUG is a forum for the WECC Compliance Department to provide information regarding NERC and WECC CIPS activities.
• The CIPUG provides a forum for the WECC Compliance Department and the Registered Entities to exchange information regarding the implementation of the CIPS.
• The CIPUG provides CIPS related training and workshops for Registered Entities on an as-needed basis.
